Marc Gibbons

Marc A. Gibbons was born in Los Angeles and raised in La Mirada. He attended Beatitudes of Our Lords Catholic School, Brethren Junior High School, and Servite High School. He is married to Raquel Gibbons (also an attorney) and has two wonderful sons, Thomas (14) and Caleb (11).

Mr. Gibbons attended the University of Illinois, Chicago where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Afterward, he went on to attend The University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. While in law school, he worked as a certified law clerk for the Orange County District Attorney’s Office. Mr. Gibbons was admitted to practice in 2001. He is also a member of the bar of the United States District Court, Central and Eastern Districts of California.

Mr. Gibbons opened up his own law office in 2002. Then, in 2004, Mr. Gibbons merged his practice with his father, Joseph T. Gibbons, Jr., and sister, Hon. Danielle R.A. Gibbons to form the criminal defense firm, Gibbons, Gibbons & Gibbons—now Gibbons & Gibbons. He solely represents individuals charged with both misdemeanor and felony charges in Federal and State courts. He has represented individuals throughout the State of California.

Mr. Gibbons has been honored with several awards throughout his career, including being named Southeast Judicial District Attorney of the year. He is a member of the California Attorneys for Criminal Justice, California DUI Lawyers Association, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Aside from his busy practice, Mr. Gibbons has been active in the Southeast District Bar Association, initially as a trustee, then as a board member, and finally as President in 2017. Mr. Gibbons has been a coach for La Mirada and Cornelia Connolly High School’s Mock Trial Program. He has also been an AYSO referee for the past three years. Most importantly, Mr. Gibbons and his wife assist families with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder to navigate the IEP process and receive services from the Regional Center.
